The Grandstanders - your weekly dose of footy, sports and health and well-being. This week we welcome back our energetic co-host Jane O'Brien (no longer feeling crook!) together with the brilliant Craig Harper.
Sports tops the list as usual. Footy fever continues as the Grandstanders review the highlights of the Collingwood vs Hawthorn game. Join our special guest as he gives us his footy tips. Also in the studio, discussions surrounding NRL, basketball and our home-grown soccer champ Harry Kewell.

Also, are we raising a 'Marshmellow Generation'? Has over-protective parenting resulted in a generation which is too afraid to fall? How do we draw the fine line between protecting our kids, but allowing them the freedom to grow?
Finally, are you experiencing fitness sabotage? Strategies for what you can do when those close to you don't support your efforts to implement positive lifestyle changes.

The Grandstanders Podcast - 10th September 2011
The Grandstanders is the name of the show. LightFM is the name of the station. 89.9 is the number on the dial. And Jane O'Brien is the lifeforce, the blood that flows through the veins of this show. With such a grand introduction from Craig Harper, this week's show has a lot to live up to!
As usual, there is jam-packed sporting talk. Not only is the AFL grand final upon us, but Samantha Stosur shines in the tennis arena as the first Australian woman to qualify for the US Open semi-finals in 27 years. Fresh off the press, Jane and Craig review the Geelong vs Hawthorn game.....and injuries suffered by Buddy Franklin and Daniel Menzel. Will this effect grand final chances?
Today's guest Loretta Watson walks us through a day in the life of a competitive body-builder. The nutrition, the training, a step-by-step run down of what happens before competition day......
Finally, questions relating to our own well-being. Are stomach crunches more effective on an exercise ball, or on the floor? Is stomach bloating related to over-eating, or starchy foods? Do you have cooped up, sick kids desperately fighting off germs?

The Grandstanders Podcast - 3rd September 2011
Craig Harper and Jane O'Brien take you on a whirlwind journey filled with love, fun and a few educational health tips now and then!
Join the Grandstanders as they entertain the masses again...
The Grandstanders talk about the Geelong Vs Collingwood game. They also talk about some of her experiences from last week - particularly her debut at Craig's gym.

Lauren finished fourth in Women's Skeet in the 2004 Summer Olympics and won three gold medals at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and the 2006 Commonwealth Games. In 1999, she became the youngest competitor ever to win the United States Open Women’s Skeet Championship. After marrying Australian Russell Mark, Lauren decided to compete for Australia, where she currently resides.
The Grandstanders talk about sugar. Also they advice listeners about safe driving - especially when there is a chance of having a kangaroo smash into their cars!
Craig is hyped about the beautiful weather... and hayfever! It also seems Craig is losing his touch on English. Is Jane's physiology upto her psychology? Craig helps us answer that question.
Jane is the jewel in the LightFM crown - atleast, thats what Craig feels! Jane also thinks that Collingwood player Dane Swan is a little bit "manscaped". This causes the Grandstanders to get into a discussion about tattoos for girls and Guy Sebastian!
Listener Samantha has her question answered in the most interesting way andJulie from Berwick helps the Grandstanders with this week's footy tippings.
Don't forget to tune into the Grandstanders every Saturday from 8am!
