The Grandstanders Podcast - 8th October 2011

It's that time of the week when you are treated to two hours of sports and health and well-being.

That's right folks, theGrandstanders are back again this week to keep you glued to your radios! They kick off the show with a secret that might put the security on guard. Join Craig Harper and Jane O'Brien for this week's edition of the Grandstanders.

The saying goes, "eat breakfast like a king". So what do the Grandstanders do? They start the show with a pep-talk about brekky. Hear what Craig and Jane feel is good to have as breakfast.They talk about porridge, nutspread on toast and scrambled egg. Hear how the body reacts to cooked breakfast.

This week's special guest is Sasha, roller derby competitor. Once again Jane O'Brien proves that she can find the most diverse forms of sport from around the world. Sasha is a member of the roller derby team called Dolls Au-Go-Go.

Craig talks about the 2011/12 season of the National Basketball League. AFL comes out with the best and fairest players of the last season. Also hear what Craig has to say about the Bathurst 1000 going to be held in New South Wales.And of course the topic of the day was the AFL Grandfinal. To be more precise - Meatloaf! Craig and Jane wanted to find out who should perform for next year's Grandfinal. As you can imagine, there were a few surprising suggestions.

Jane feels that their audio should be backed by some visual graphics... like a powerpoint presentation. Craig talks about the different learning styles. He thinks he is an "experiential" learner. Only the Harpster can come up with works like that! Also Craig and Jane talk about Gary Ayres, the current senior coach of the Melbourne Football Club.

The Grandstanders talk about the harmful effects of drinking out of a plastic bottle. Special guest Sasha talks to Craig and Jane about Craig's shopping incident. Craig expresses his anti feline attitude which seems to send Jane on a rage. Finally, hear all about the wonderful sport of roller derby, a new facebook page for Craig and his friend and many more.
